Roman – GreenWay

GreenWay installation took place in Roman during the summer of 2020 on Stefan cel Mare Street (3 traffic light intersections) road cross section with Nicolae Balcescu Boulevard (E85 ring road). Overall deployment time was of 8 hours with immediate traffic improvement results. City Hall's traffic management problems along with GreenWay's implemented solution are summarized below:

Heavy E85 ring road traffic reaches into a city neighborhood causing congested truck and long vehicles platoons up to 1.1 km long
GW solution was able to almost eliminate the stop-and-go of trucks and long vehicle platoons, by deploying a custom green wave adapted to hourly fluctuations of traffic, capable of minimizing the waiting times and queueing on the deployed 1.2 km long streets sector.

3 uncoordinated traffic light intersections create severe congestion and big delay times on the ring road, all the heavy trucks and long vehicles delayed in traffic causing enormous air and sound pollution, also due to green and red traffic lights times not adapted to traffic volumes evolution during the day
GW 3 traffic light intersections coordination deployed a properly adapted green wave capable to continously transfer heavy trucks platoons up to 700 m long without interruptions, thus greatly reducing air and sound pollution generated by the previous stop-and-go situation.

Traffic management infrastructure is more than 8 years old, a modern one being needed

GW's deployed green waves mechanism decreased the number of traffic lights stops to a maximum of 1 stop, at the end of green wave sector if the traffic light there is on red light at the intersection entry moment.
